Each uniform item is tagged with a durable, heat-sealed or sewn-in RFID label and assigned to an employee in the system. From that point, the uniform is automatically tracked at three key stages.
- Uniform Pickup: Employees collect their assigned garments — such as a shirt and trousers — from an RFID-enabled self-service conveyor in the wardrobe room. The system reads each tag and logs the pickup in real time, linking the garments to the individual. This process eliminates manual checkouts while improving accountability.
- Soiled Garment Return: At the end of each shift, employees deposit their worn uniforms into a laundry chute that leads to the laundry collection area. An RFID reader at the drop point captures the tag ID and updates the system to reflect that the item is ready for laundering.
- Clean Garment Return: After laundering, the garments are returned to the casino and the issued garments are placed on the conveyor. An RFID reader scans each tag again, confirming receipt and updating the garment’s status to “clean and available.”
The system also enables periodic inventory reconciliation, scanning unassigned garments at least twice per year to identify missing or damaged items. Garments that are not returned — whether due to damage, employee turnover or loss — can be removed from the system to maintain inventory accuracy.
Management receives detailed reports on garment usage, laundry costs and replacement needs. The system helps monitor garment wear-and-wash cycles, track loaner inventory and identify when replacements are due, thereby reducing unnecessary purchases and optimizing budget planning.
